Why the contours may appear less defined
In Astigmatism, light does not converge at a single point. The orientation and magnitude of the astigmatic component are expressed in the prescription by means of cylinder e axis. ‘Blurred’ or ‘distorted’ does not mean seeing two separate images: the diplopia It is a different phenomenon and requires a specific framework.
Vision correction with spectacles and contact lenses
Depending on the prescription, Astigmatism can be corrected using sphero-cylindrical spectacle lenses or toric contact lenses and other professionally selected lens geometries. Axis stability, the frame and the position of the lens are crucial for maintaining consistent correction.
For contact lenses, the material, geometry, replacement schedule and instructions for use are specified in the Advanced Contact Lens Practice, in accordance with the prescription and the ophthalmologist’s instructions.
The Isolani technical project
At Isolani Optical Centres, we fulfil your prescription by selecting a suitable combination of lenses and frames. The Behavioural Centring It enables the measurement of parameters and actual posture; assembly and final testing are carried out in our laboratories.
