Description

The Levenhuk RA 200N Dobson telescope is a 200 mm Newtonian reflector designed for observing deep-sky objects, including star clusters, nebulae and galaxies. It is also possible to observe the planets of the Solar System: Mars, Venus, Saturn, Jupiter, etc., as well as their moons. This telescope is highly regarded by discerning amateur astronomers who want a wide-ranging observing experience. The telescope is easy to use, even for beginners.

Parabolic primary mirror and active optical cooling

The primary mirror features a parabolic shape that minimises optical distortions during high-magnification observations. Its surface is coated with aluminium, offering a reflectance of 92–96 per cent. This has a positive effect on the contrast and brightness of the image. Focus can be adjusted using a dual-speed achromatic Crayford focuser. It is backlash-free and securely supports even the heaviest optical accessories for fast and accurate focusing.

The rear cover of the telescope tube is fitted with a cooling fan. This enables the telescope to reach thermal equilibrium almost twice as quickly, allowing you to begin observations with minimal waiting time. The fan is battery-powered (batteries to be purchased separately).

Dobsonian mount with side bearings fitted with a braking system for smoother tube movement

This telescope is fitted with a classic Dobsonian mount. Its design is conventional and offers all the advantages of this type of mount, whilst at the same time its mechanisms have been significantly improved. The special side bearings, fitted with a braking system for smoother tube movement, allow the optical tube to be moved a few centimetres up or down. When using additional accessories, the system will quickly rebalance the telescope, maximising its stability.

There are graduated scales on the sides of the mount for more practical balancing. Furthermore, the bearings are durable and ensure smooth movement, which is crucial when using the telescope at high magnifications.

Ready-to-use kit

The telescope kit includes two eyepieces with different focal lengths and an 8x50 mm finder scope. With these, you can start observing straight away.
