The Levenhuk Ra R66 ED Black doublet optical tube is a short-focal-length apochromatic refractor that allows you to get a glimpse of objects in the Messier and NGC catalogues, as well as to observe the lunar surface in detail. It is possible to observe planets as well as deep-sky objects. However, the primary use of this optical tube assembly (OTA) is astrophotography. Photographs taken with this telescope’s optics are rich in contrast and feature razor-sharp detail.

Description

The Levenhuk Ra R66 ED Black doublet optical tube is a short-focal-length apochromatic refractor that allows you to get a glimpse of objects in the Messier and NGC catalogues, as well as to observe the lunar surface in detail. It is possible to observe planets as well as deep-sky objects. However, the primary use of this optical tube assembly (OTA) is astrophotography. Photographs taken using this telescope’s optics are rich in contrast and feature exceptionally sharp detail.

The lenses are made from extra-low dispersion glass, which effectively minimises chromatic aberrations, particularly second-order aberrations and spherical aberration. The wide field of view makes it practical for studying larger areas of the sky. The telescope is fitted with a dual-speed Crayford focuser, which ensures smooth and extremely accurate focusing in all conditions.

The optical tube assembly (OTA) is made from anodised aluminium and can be mounted on most modern mounts. As this OTA is fairly light and compact, it is an excellent choice for trips out of town. The kit also includes a handy aluminium case for protecting and transporting the telescope.

Please note: the mount, tripod and optical accessories are not included.

Features:

  • Compact and lightweight apochromatic refractor
  • Fully multi-coated ED glass lenses
  • Dual-speed Crayford focuser for precise focus adjustment
  • Excellent image clarity and contrast, with minimal chromatic aberration
