The Levenhuk Ra R66 ED Carbon double-element optical tube is an apochromatic refractor featuring a carbon-fibre body, making it lighter and more compact than many other telescopes and therefore practical for field use. This telescope produces clear, high-contrast images, offers an excellent field of view and is superb for astrophotography. You can take unforgettable photographs of the starry sky using this optical tube assembly (OTA), but it is also more than suitable for direct observation. With this OTA, you can observe all the objects in the Messier catalogue, many nebulae and various star clusters, as well as some of the planets in the Solar System.

Description

The Levenhuk Ra R66 ED Carbon doublet optical tube is an apochromatic refractor featuring a carbon-fibre body, making it lighter and more compact than many other telescopes and therefore practical for field use. This telescope produces clear, high-contrast images, offers an excellent field of view and is superb for astrophotography. You can take unforgettable photographs of the starry sky using this optically-tubed unit (OTA), but it is also more than suitable for direct observation. With this OTA, you can observe all the objects in the Messier catalogue, many nebulae and various star clusters, as well as some planets in the Solar System.

The optical elements are made from extra-low-dispersion glass, so the image produced is free from the chromatic aberrations that affect most refractors, including achromatic ones. These optical elements effectively reduce chromatic aberrations, particularly second-order and spherochromatic aberrations. Consequently, image quality is excellent even at high magnifications. The integrated dual-speed Crayford focuser allows for precise and smooth focusing.

As the optics are housed in a carbon-fibre body, temperature stabilisation occurs at twice the rate. This is because the properties of carbon do not change with temperature; therefore, to begin observations, one need only wait for the optics to ‘cool down’. This optical tube can be mounted on most modern mounts. The kit also includes a handy, sturdy aluminium case for protecting and transporting the telescope.

Please note: the mount, tripod and optical accessories are not included.
