The Levenhuk Ra R80 ED Carbon doublet optical tube is an 80 mm apochromatic refractor with two lenses, a short focal length and extra-low dispersion optics. It features a large aperture and a wide field of view, but its main strength lies in its effective reduction of chromatic aberration, resulting in images of the utmost clarity. Thanks to its fully multi-coated optics, this telescope produces bright, high-contrast images. This optical tube is an excellent choice for direct observation and astrophotography.
The body is made of carbon fibre, which is lighter than aluminium. Furthermore, this OTA stabilises to temperature more quickly, as the performance of its body does not vary with temperature changes; consequently, only the optics and the air inside the tube need to ‘cool down’. This allows you to begin observations more quickly, thanks also to the quick-release wing nut. This OTA is fitted with a 2-inch dual-speed Crayford focuser. It ensures smooth focus adjustment, without any backlash, and safely supports even the heaviest optical accessories.
The Levenhuk Ra R80 ED Carbon optical tube is ideal for use outside the city thanks to its compact size and light weight, which make it portable and easy to carry. In addition, the kit includes a sturdy aluminium case.
