Description

The Levenhuk Skyline BASE 60T is a refracting telescope used to observe the craters on Mars, the phases of Venus, faint and double stars, and terrestrial objects. The Levenhuk Skyline BASE 60T is ideal for observing the wonders of the Universe, but is perfect for exploring outer space. That is why a beginner astronomer or a child interested in science will choose this telescope over similar models. Thanks to its simple operation and comprehensive kit, this telescope is excellent for first observations and will be a much-wanted gift for many astronomy enthusiasts.

Inside the telescope are fully coated glass optical elements. The lenses produce a sharp, high-contrast image; they do not fog up and even display dimly lit objects with good clarity. The optical tube is mounted on an altazimuth mount. It doesn’t take long to learn how it works: even a child will quickly understand how to operate the telescope. A viewfinder helps you locate objects in the sky or on the horizon. It is included in the kit and offers 5x magnification.

As well as the finder scope, the box also contains other accessories. Two eyepieces are essential for selecting the correct magnification. An eyepiece with a short focal length increases the magnification up to 175x, whilst the other eyepiece, with a long focal length, offers a magnification of 35x. The higher the magnification, the more detail you will see of the object; a low magnification allows you to observe enlarged objects. The kit includes a mirror prism. This accessory is used for observing terrestrial objects. Telescopes produce a distorted (upside-down) image, which is unsuitable for terrestrial observations. The mirrored diagonal corrects this distortion and ensures the image appears upright.

An aluminium tripod is used to mount the telescope. It is stable and reliable. Thanks to its height-adjustable legs, the tripod remains steady even on uneven ground. An accessory tray is included.

  • Refractor with coated optical elements, mounted on an altazimuth mount
