The Levenhuk Skyline PLUS 80S is a telescope designed for experienced and very discerning users. This Newtonian reflector is perfect for observing deep-sky objects: you can spot all the objects in the Messier catalogue and the brightest objects in the NGC catalogue. You’ll be able to study dozens of star clusters and planetary and diffuse nebulae. Of course, you can also explore the nearest reaches of space, from the lunar craters to Saturn’s rings, Jupiter’s atmospheric vortices, the storms on Mars, the phases of Mercury, and so on. Even Uranus and Neptune are distinguishable as small circles.
The telescope’s optics are made from fully coated anti-reflective glass. The included accessories have been selected to make the most of the optics’ full potential. By using two eyepieces and a Barlow lens, you can achieve the maximum usable magnification, which allows you to observe astronomical objects as clearly and in as much detail as possible; alternatively, you can opt for a wider field of view to observe the vast deep-sky objects. This well-balanced accessory kit helps you avoid having to buy additional components.
The telescope is fitted with an equatorial mount. This allows you to locate astronomical objects, but it takes some practice to master its use and operate the telescope to its full potential. The mount is attached to an aluminium tripod. Thanks to the individually height-adjustable legs, the tripod can be positioned on any terrain. It also features an accessory tray.
