The modern technologies that have entered the optical instrumentation market have significantly expanded our capabilities. With the Levenhuk Rainbow D50L PLUS 2M digital microscope, Moonstone, you can not only observe plant and animal cells or microorganisms, but also save the results of your studies by taking photos and videos of the samples you’ve observed. The kit includes everything you need to carry out interesting experiments with the microscope. You can share your research by posting the images and videos you’ve captured on Facebook, Instagram and other social media platforms.
High-quality
optics
The kit includes three objective lenses: 4x, 10x and 40x. The most powerful objective has a special spring mechanism that protects the optics from accidental damage. In the event of a focusing error, even if the objective lens were to drop and touch the specimen, the spring mechanism behind the lens would cause it to retract, preventing damage to either the lens or the specimen. The 2x Barlow lens doubles the magnification of whichever objective lens is used. The maximum magnification for this microscope is as high as 1280x!
The lenses are made from high-quality optical glass treated with a multi-layer anti-reflective coating for improved light transmission. The image produced will always have good contrast and excellent detail.
Digital
camera
The microscope is fitted with a modern 2 Mpx digital camera. The camera is fitted in place of an eyepiece and then connected to a computer. The magnified images will then appear on the screen. This allows a child to show interesting samples to parents and friends. A teacher can demonstrate all the stages of an experiment to their pupils. Furthermore, the camera naturally allows you to capture beautiful images and videos of the objects being observed.
Combined
illumination
The microscope is fitted with two LED light sources. The bottom light is used for observing transparent samples such as thin sections of animal or plant tissue, or a drop of fresh water. Opaque objects, such as a sheet of paper, should be observed using top illumination. The study of semi-transparent objects requires illumination from both directions. It is also possible to adjust the brightness to best view each specific specimen.
Durable and practical
body
The microscope body is made of metal, which is why it is a particularly reliable microscope, suitable for frequent use. For the user’s convenience, the head is angled at 45 degrees and rotates 360 degrees around its axis. This feature proves particularly useful when working in a group: there is no longer any need to move the microscope; simply rotate the head. The microscope is powered via the AC mains or by the standard batteries included in the kit. The camera is powered via the USB cable.
Warning: Please refer to the specifications table for the correct mains voltage and never attempt to connect a 110 V device to a 220 V socket, or vice versa, without using a converter. Remember that the mains voltage in the United States and Canada is 110 V and 220–240 V in most European countries.
Experiment
Kit
The K50 experiment kit will be particularly useful for those taking their first steps into the wonderful world of the microcosm. The kit includes prepared, ready-to-use slides, special tools for creating your own samples and a very useful guide with advice, tips and descriptions of experiments.
Protective

The plastic case included in the pack allows you to keep the microscope and all its accessories in one place, without losing anything. It also protects the instrument during transport.
