Description

The Levenhuk Rainbow 50L microscope makes a lovely gift for anyone interested in science and biology. This instrument allows you to observe and study familiar objects from your surroundings at magnifications of 40x, 80x, 100x, 200x, 400x and even 800x! With this microscope, you can discover the structure of plants, animals and humans; take a look at the lives of microscopic organisms, normally hidden from our eyes, in their own micro-universe; and, of course, carry out lots of exciting experiments. The kit includes everything a beginner could need – inside the box you’ll find microscope slides ready for immediate observation, as well as tools that will allow you to create your own slides.

Six levels of magnification
The microscope is fitted with three objectives and an additional Barlow lens, which doubles the magnification of whichever objective is used. The microscope allows you to observe samples at magnifications of 40x, 80x, 100x, 200x, 400x and even 800x!

The optical elements are made of high-quality clear glass. For better light transmission, the lenses are coated with a multi-layer coating, which produces clear and sharp images.

Bright LED
illumination The microscope is fitted with two built-in LED lights. The lower light is used for observing transparent specimens. With the lower light switched on, you can discover life in a drop of aquarium water or analyse the cellular structure of various plants. The higher light setting is required for observing opaque objects; for example, you can examine the surface structure of a small stone or spot microscopic scratches on metal surfaces that are invisible to the naked eye. With two light sources, you’ll also be able to observe semi-transparent samples – simply switch on both the upper and lower lights. The brightness is adjustable, so you can easily change it if necessary.

Ease of use
The microscope body is made of high-quality plastic; this is why the instrument is both lightweight and durable. The head is angled at 45° so that you can observe from a more comfortable position. It can also rotate 360° around its axis, which is particularly handy during group observations – the head can be easily turned to allow the next participant to observe. You can power it using a mains socket or batteries.

Warning: Please refer to the specifications table for the correct mains voltage and never attempt to plug a 110 V device into a 220 V socket, or vice versa, without using a converter. Remember that the mains voltage in the United States and Canada is 110 V and 220–240 V in most European countries.

Exciting microscope
experiments The microscope comes with an experiment kit that allows you to carry out a wide range of exciting microscope experiments. The kit includes prepared specimens for testing your new microscope, as well as the tools needed to prepare your own specimens. A handy guide included in the kit contains information on the microscope’s construction, tips on how to use it and a description of interesting experiments.

Storage and carrying
case The microscope comes with a convenient and reliable plastic case. The case allows for the safe storage and transport of the instrument – you can be sure that the microscope is protected from dust and knocks.
