Charming and stylish, the Levenhuk Rainbow 2L microscope can turn even the most tedious of biology lessons into an engaging educational experience. This microscope allows children to discover the inner workings of the things around them, to study insects and plants, to find out whether yoghurt really does contain living organisms, and to explore many other fascinating topics. The Levenhuk Rainbow 2L comes with an experiment kit, so a young explorer can start using the microscope straight out of the box.
High-quality
optics
The lenses are made from special optical glass with a high level of transparency. In addition, the optical surfaces are treated with a multi-layer coating, which increases the amount of light transmitted and improves image quality. The model comes with three objective lenses included, so the microscope is capable of magnifications ranging from 40x to 400x. Changing the magnification is very easy: simply rotate the objective revolver.
Versatility: examining transparent and non-transparent
specimens
One of the main advantages of this microscope is its ability to observe both transparent and opaque specimens. For this purpose, the microscope is equipped with two light sources. Bottom illumination is used to observe transparent specimens, such as thin sections of plants and insects. Top illumination allows you to observe opaque objects, such as small stones, coins and banknotes, and many others. Furthermore, it is possible to examine semi-transparent specimens by switching on both light sources. The choice of interesting specimens to examine is limited only by their size and the observer’s imagination.
Smart
design
The microscope, with its plastic body, is much lighter than those made of metal, making it much easier and more practical to carry to school, on a walk or to a friend’s house. At the same time, the microscope is robust and therefore perfect for intensive use. To provide greater comfort during observation, the head is angled at 45°. The lighting can be powered either by batteries or via a mains socket.
Warning: Please refer to the specifications table for the correct mains voltage and never attempt to plug a 110 V device into a 220 V socket, or vice versa, without using a converter. Remember that the mains voltage in the USA and Canada is 110 V and 220–240 V in most European countries.
