Description

The Levenhuk MED D40T LCD digital microscope is equipped not only with an infinity-corrected planachromatic optical system and Köhler illumination, but also with an LCD digital camera included in the kit. The microscope is designed for professionals; it can be used in laboratories, medical centres and academic institutions for student training. It is suitable for both detailed research and for presentations, workshops and conferences.

Planachromatic optics with infinity correction

The Levenhuk MED 40 series microscopes are equipped with an infinity-corrected optical system, as found in professional and high-end microscopes. This system comprises planachromatic objectives and ensures the transmission of clear, high-contrast images with excellent flatness.

One of the most important features of the infinity-corrected optical system is that it allows additional components to be fitted into the optical path between the objective lens and the eyepiece. These additional components include a polariser, epi-fluorescence unit and phase-contrast devices. Overall, the modular design and ease of use make Levenhuk MED 40 microscopes ideal for use across various fields of microscopy, including work in haematology, histology and microbiology laboratories, and many others.

Rotatable head with beam splitter

The trinocular head can be rotated through 360°, making the microscope ideal for group studies. The binocular viewing port is inclined at 30°, whilst the eyepiece tube for a digital camera is vertical; a beam splitter is also included.

Digital camera with LCD touchscreen

The kit includes a 5 MP camera with a touchscreen LCD. There is no need to connect it to a PC or install any additional software. The camera displays images on the built-in screen in real time, so there is no need to look through the eyepieces. This makes laboratory work easier and more comfortable, whilst reducing eye strain and tension on the shoulder joint. The camera can also be connected to an external screen or a TV, and additional devices (headphones, keyboard, mouse, etc.) can be connected.
Memory cards and other data storage devices are supported. The camera allows you to take high-resolution photos and videos. The software allows you to adjust the image size, brightness and contrast, exposure time and white balance, calibrate the camera and lenses, and measure samples and structures (various units of measurement are available). In addition, the programme enables particle size analysis.

Optical capabilities

The wide-field eyepieces ensure a clear view, offer 10x magnification and feature dioptre adjustment. There are five objective lenses with different magnifications; a 100x objective lens is suitable for observations using the oil immersion method. Three objective lenses have spring-loaded mounts that protect the optics from accidental damage. All optical surfaces of the accessories are protected with an anti-fungal coating.

Working comfortably with microscope slides

The dual-coordinate stage is fitted with a mechanical translator. The illumination system is positioned at the bottom; it comprises a high-intensity LED light and an Abbe condenser with an iris diaphragm. A filter holder is available. The light intensity is adjustable.

Features:

  • Infinity-corrected planachromatic optics
  • Magnification range of the trinocular head with beam splitter from 40x to 1000x
  • LED light with adjustable brightness
  • Köhler illumination available
  • Powered by an AC power supply, with brightness control

Warning:

for information regarding the correct mains voltage, please refer to the specifications table. Never attempt to connect a 110 V device to a 220 V mains socket, or vice versa, without using a voltage converter. Please note that the mains voltage is 220–240 V in most European countries and 110 V in the United States and Canada.
