Description

The Levenhuk MED 40T is a trinocular microscope with an infinity-corrected planachromatic optical system suitable for professional microscopic studies at magnifications ranging from 40x to 1000x. The microscope produces a clear, high-contrast image, free from distortion, and allows you to study small structures across a completely flat field of view. It is the perfect choice for professionals working in clinical diagnostic laboratories, as well as staff at scientific research centres or educational institutions.

Planachromatic optics with infinity correction

The Levenhuk MED 40 series microscopes are equipped with an infinity-corrected optical system, as used in professional and high-end microscopes. This system comprises planachromatic objectives and ensures the delivery of clear, high-contrast images with excellent flatness.

One of the most important features of the infinity-corrected optical system is that it allows additional components to be fitted into the optical path between the objective lens and the eyepiece. These additional components include a polariser, epi-fluorescence unit and phase-contrast devices. Overall, the modular design and ease of use make Levenhuk MED 40 microscopes ideal instruments for use in various fields of microscopy, including work in haematology, histology and microbiology laboratories, and many others.

Rotating head with beam splitter

The trinocular head allows you to observe samples in the traditional way whilst simultaneously viewing images on an external screen online. The head comprises a binocular viewing unit and a separate tube into which a camera can be fitted (the camera is not included in the kit). The viewing module is tilted at 30°, thus preventing neck strain. The tube for a digital camera is vertical. For convenient group observations, the head can be rotated through 360°. A beam splitter is included.

Optical capabilities

The optical system comprises two wide-field eyepieces and five planachromatic objective lenses. Observations can be carried out using either the standard method or oil immersion (a 100x objective lens is used for oil immersion). The eyepieces offer 10x magnification and dioptre adjustment. Three objectives with maximum magnification are fitted with spring-loaded mounts to protect the optics from accidental damage. All optical surfaces of the accessories are protected with an anti-fungal coating. Coarse and fine focusing are available.

Working comfortably with slides

Beneath the optical system is a stage with a mechanical translator. Beneath this is an Abbe condenser with an iris diaphragm and a filter holder. Specimens are illuminated from below by a bright 5 W LED light. The light intensity is adjustable. Köhler illumination is available.

The light requires an AC power supply. The brightness of the light is adjustable.

Features:

  • Infinity-corrected plan-achromatic optics
  • Magnification range of the trinocular head with beam splitter: 40x to 1000x
  • Intense LED light
  • Köhler illumination available
  • Powered by an AC power supply, with adjustable brightness

Warning:

for information on the correct mains voltage, please refer to the specifications table. Never attempt to connect a 110 V device to a 220 V mains socket, or vice versa, without using a voltage converter. Please note that the mains voltage is 220–240 V in most European countries and 110 V in the United States and Canada.
