Focus Presbyopia 2024: official report and video from the second edition

The second edition of Focus: Presbyopia, the event organised by Istituto Ottico Isolani in collaboration with Hoya Italia and dedicated to myopia, presbyopia and low vision. The event took place on 6 November 2024 at Villa Lo Zerbino, in the heart of Genoa, and brought together over 100 ophthalmologists and orthoptists from across Liguria.

1. Opening of the proceedings and institutional introduction

The event began at 6.30 pm with registration and a welcome drink. The Chairwoman Laura Isolani and the Chief Executive Officers Enrico and Elisabetta Gazzo They welcomed the participants and introduced the evening and the agenda.

At 7.30 pm, the conference began with the screening of the promotional video and the official presentation of the event.

2. Myopia: updates, findings and new perspectives

The first part of the evening was devoted to myopia and technologies for managing myopic progression. The speakers presented an update one year on from the previous event, covering results, feedback and the latest clinical and technical developments.

3. Presbyopia: surgical solutions

The second part of the event explored presbyopia from a surgical perspective, with a focus on intraocular lenses and the strategies currently available for correcting presbyopia.

The presentations outlined current treatment options, innovations in intraocular lenses and clinical considerations in the management of presbyopic patients.

The next session explored optical solutions for presbyopia in greater depth, focusing on the latest generation of ophthalmic lenses and personalised strategies to meet patients’ needs.

6. The distinctive features of the Isolani Opticians
