Description

discovery_logo_02

The Discovery Channel informs, entertains and inspires its audience around the world about the wonders of our planet, its diversity and its surprises. By offering millions of people the chance to make new discoveries and satisfy their curiosity, Discovery provides an engaging mix of storytelling across a range of genres: science and technology, exploration, adventure, history and a behind-the-scenes look at the people, places and organisations that shape the world we live in.

We are proud to present the Discovery range of optical instruments, manufactured by Levenhuk and sponsored by Discovery.

The Discovery Spark 769 EQ is a Newtonian reflector with a spherical mirror, perfect for beginners wishing to explore deep-sky objects: nebulae, star clusters and distant galaxies. With this telescope, you can observe many of the objects listed above and others, including those in the Messier catalogue. Interplanetary space – that is, the Moon and the planets of the Solar System – is also within reach for observation. The colourful educational book ‘Space: Not Empty’ will help you brush up on your knowledge of astronomy and explore the starry sky.

The optical tube of the Discovery Spark 769 EQ telescope is aligned manually using its equatorial mount, which is fitted with knobs for micrometric movement control. This makes it easy to track objects as they appear to move across the sky, without ever losing sight of them. This is a feature that will be appreciated by anyone wishing to try their hand at astrophotography. The telescope’s glass optics have been treated with a special anti-reflective coating, which significantly improves light transmission and, consequently, image quality. Celestial bodies will be visible in sharp, clear detail.

A sturdy aluminium tripod will help to stabilise the telescope at your chosen observation point. The height of the tripod is adjustable to suit the user’s needs. The accessory tray, positioned in the centre of the tripod, holds spare eyepieces, lenses, etc. Everything needed for observations is already included in the box.

Key features:

  • Reflector telescope with a spherical mirror and anti-reflective coating
  • Equatorial mount with knobs for micrometric movement control
  • The 900 mm focal length enables high-quality images to be produced
