Description

discovery_logo_02

The Discovery Channel informs, entertains and inspires its audience around the world about the wonders of our planet, its diversity and its surprises. By offering millions of people the chance to make new discoveries and satisfy their curiosity, Discovery provides an engaging mix of storytelling across a range of genres: science and technology, exploration, adventure, history, and a behind-the-scenes look at the people, places and organisations that shape the world we live in.

We are proud to present the Discovery range of optical instruments, manufactured by Levenhuk and sponsored by Discovery.

The Discovery Spark 767 AZ is a classic entry-level Newtonian reflector, designed for observing deep-sky objects. With this telescope, you can study double stars as well as the largest globular clusters and open clusters. You’ll be able to observe almost all the deep-sky objects in the Messier catalogue, albeit not in great detail. As for the celestial bodies closest to Earth, you can explore the Moon and the so-called terrestrial planets.

The optics of the Discovery Spark 767 AZ telescope are made of anti-reflective coated glass and produce clear, sharp and crystal-clear images. The altazimuth mount allows you to easily control the telescope by moving the tube horizontally and vertically. Pointing the telescope at astronomical objects is easy to master, even for a beginner. The mount’s vertical axis is fitted with a locking knob that ensures high-precision pointing.

Three eyepieces and a 2x Barlow lens are also included, allowing you to experiment with different magnifications. The accessories are conveniently stored in the tray on the tripod, which is height-adjustable. It is also worth noting that the educational book ‘Space: Empty Yet Not Empty’ is an excellent resource for aspiring astronomers and is supplied in a colourful gift box together with the telescope and its accessories. The book is a guide to exploring space, helping you discover new information about celestial bodies or brush up on your knowledge before setting out to observe the stars.
