The Discovery Sky T60 is a classic AZ-mount refractor. It is an excellent choice for beginners. Firstly, its optics allow you to observe many objects in the cosmos (the Moon is easy to view); furthermore, learning to use this telescope takes just a couple of minutes. The well-stocked accessory kit is another undeniable advantage of this telescope: there’s no need to buy anything separately! The kit even includes an educational book about the cosmos.

All objects can be observed at different magnifications. Simply change the eyepiece or add a Barlow lens to vary the magnification range. A straightening eyepiece and a mirrored diagonal are included in the kit for terrestrial observations. These accessories enable the telescope to be used as a powerful terrestrial spotting scope. An optical finder mounted on the telescope tube is useful for locating the positions of celestial bodies.

The AZ mount is fitted with a micrometric screw on the vertical axis, allowing you to adjust the telescope and centre it on the desired object smoothly and precisely. The tripod is made of aluminium alloy and fitted with an accessory tray. The tripod’s height is adjustable, so the telescope can easily be adapted to the user’s height. The tripod is very stable. It remains firmly in place even on uneven surfaces.

The educational book *Space: Empty Yet Not Empty* is a great help in mastering the basics of astronomy. This colourful guide illustrates every aspect of the Solar System (the Sun, the planets and their moons), meteors and comets, distant stars and much more, all in accessible language. The book contains vibrant illustrations and tips on using the telescope.
