The Discovery Femto Polar digital microscope allows you to examine the microcosm with your own eyes, as well as capture photos and videos of the samples being analysed. The 3 MP camera features an image gallery for saving images and displays the sample in real time on the main screen. The microscope is easy to use, produces clear, high-contrast images, and the included accessories are suitable for enthusiasts and students. A comprehensive illustrated educational book on the wonders of the microcosm, entitled “The Invisible World”, is included in the kit.

Achromatic optics with magnification ranging from 40x to 400x

The microscope is fitted with a monocular head that can be rotated through 360°. It is convenient for group use, particularly when it is necessary to share access to the image with others. Instead of moving the entire instrument, the head can be rotated as required. The 45° tilt of the head makes prolonged use more comfortable. The microscope’s optical components – a wide-field eyepiece and three achromatic objectives – are made of glass. The 40x objective is mounted on a retractable spring mechanism for greater protection against accidental damage. The instrument is fitted with a focusing mechanism featuring macro and micrometric adjustment.

Combined LED illumination with brightness control

Stage with clamps, disc diaphragm positioned beneath the stage to control the lower light beam. Combined and adjustable illumination. The illumination can be powered by batteries (not included) or via the mains using the supplied AC adaptor.

The kit includes a 3 MP camera for capturing photos and videos

The 3 MP digital camera is capable of taking photos with a resolution of 2048x1536 pixels, more than sufficient to view numerous minute details on the sample. It also features video recording functionality. To use the camera, insert it into the optical tube in place of the eyepiece, connect it to a computer via a USB cable and open the programme (use the software installation CD). Image processing functions are available for both photos and videos.

The comprehensive illustrated educational book, entitled ‘The Invisible World’, is a welcome addition to the kit. It is written in easy-to-understand language and contains simple illustrations. It provides lots of interesting information on how to use the microscope to observe the inside of a drop of water or how to carry out experiments at home. This wonderful educational book adds value to the experimental experience.
