The Discovery Atto Polar digital microscope is a biological optical microscope with a 5 MP digital camera. It can be used to view the microcosm as well as to save images of the specimen as photos or videos. The microscope has a magnification range of 40x to 1000x, allowing for a detailed study of the specimen, regardless of its degree of transparency, and the possibility of conducting experiments with the objective immersed in oil. The kit includes a comprehensive educational book about the microcosm.
Achromatic optics, magnification range between 40x and 1000x
The monocular head can be rotated 360° around the vertical axis. The head’s 45° tilt ensures greater comfort during prolonged observations. The optical system comprises a 10x wide-field eyepiece with a field-centre pointer and four achromatic objectives with magnifications of 4x, 10x, 40x and 100x. The 40x and 100x objective lenses are fitted with a spring-loaded mechanism for added protection. The instrument is equipped with macro and micrometric focusing.
Combined LED illumination
The microscope stage is fitted with a mechanical translator for optimal use of sample micro-preparation techniques. The illumination system consists of dimmable LED lights: an upper light above the stage and a lower light beneath it. Both lights can be powered by batteries (not included) or via an AC adaptor (the AC adaptor is included in the kit). The microscope is fitted with an Abbe condenser with an iris diaphragm and a filter holder.
5 MP digital camera for capturing photos and videos
The 5 MP camera gives this model an edge over the competition. The camera can be fitted into the optical tube of the head in place of the eyepiece and connected to a computer via a USB cable. Software installation is required using the supplied CD. The camera is capable of uploading images in real time to a computer screen at a resolution of 2592x1944, as well as taking photos and recording videos. Basic image processing functions are available for both photos and videos.
The educational book ‘Invisible World’ is included in the kit
The book “The Invisible World” enables you to quickly learn how to use a microscope and how to navigate the diversity of the microcosm. This comprehensive volume is written in easy-to-understand language and contains vivid illustrations; it also explains scientific theories and prepares students to apply this knowledge in practice. Simple scientific experiments can be carried out at home with the help of this educational text.
