The Discovery Artisan 512 digital microscope is suitable for working with precious metals, jewellery, electronic circuits, watch mechanisms, minerals and biological samples. Thanks to the polarising filter, it is even useful for examining objects with polished surfaces, as this filter reduces unwanted reflections. The built-in camera allows you to capture images and record videos. This can be useful for maintaining a digital archive of your observations.

The images displayed are captured by a 5 MP microscope camera. The brightness of the LED lighting is adjustable, thus providing the best working conditions. The camera provides a magnification of 10 to 300x, and an additional digital zoom allows observation of objects at up to 1200x. The vivid, detailed image is then displayed on the integrated 5″ LCD screen. The screen makes it easier to work with the instrument for long periods, as viewing the image on the display is much more comfortable than using the eyepiece of a traditional microscope. The colour screen has good image resolution.

The microscope can also be connected to an external monitor, a TV or a computer. The kit includes all the necessary cables, so there is no need to purchase them separately. A memory card (not included) is required to save photos and videos. MicroSD cards with a capacity of up to 32 GB are supported. The microscope comes with computer software offering various functions, including the measurement of observed objects. You can measure the radius, diameter, angle between three points, the length of a line and much more.

The microscope is powered via the mains or by the built-in battery, which provides up to three hours of battery life.

Tips for using the software.

To ensure the programme works correctly, only launch the installed application when the microscope is connected to the PC and ready for observation.

Note: The mains voltage in the United States and Canada is 110 V, whilst in most European countries it is 220–240 V. For information on the correct mains voltage, please refer to the specifications table. Never attempt to connect a 110 V device to a 220 V mains socket, or vice versa, without using a voltage converter.
