The Discovery Artisan 256 is a digital microscope with an LCD screen and a rechargeable battery, suitable for a wide variety of professional applications. It can be used for quality control in metalworking, for welding, electronic circuits and watch repair. It can also be used for jewellery making and the appraisal of art objects, to examine the structure of minerals or coins, and much more besides. A handheld microscope is often used to inspect goods in shops and detect any mould growing on fruit and vegetables. The microscope is easy to use. It can be connected to a computer (Windows and Mac OS are supported) or a TV, and also allows you to take photos, record videos and measure distances, angles, radii and areas.
The image is captured by a built-in 5 MP camera, with up to 12 MP resolution via interpolation. The lighting system surrounding the lens consists of 8 white LEDs with adjustable brightness. The lighting can be switched off when not required. The microscope’s magnification ranges from 20x to 500x, and the focus can be adjusted manually within a range of 0 to 30 mm.
The microscope body is protected by a rubber cover, which provides a comfortable grip. The set includes a small stand. It can be used for extended observations. A carrying case is included to facilitate transport of the microscope.
Note: A memory card (not included) is required to save photos and videos.
