The Discovery Crafts DGL 50 is a binocular magnifying device with swivelling lenses: you can remove one or both lenses by swivelling them upwards. This is a convenient solution for when you wish to observe an object alternately with the naked eye and under magnification. These magnifying glasses have a short focal length and offer high magnification, so they are primarily used for precision work. In particular: model-making, soldering, repairing mechanisms, assessing surface defects, valuing jewellery, etc.
The interchangeable lenses are organised in pairs: 4 sets of 2 lenses each. The lenses are made from optical polymer glass with a high degree of transparency. This is a very durable material, with image quality comparable to standard glass, but with a durability that may even be greater. The lenses are attached to the spectacle frame; the temples can be replaced with a fabric headband if necessary.
Next to each lens is a cluster of LEDs. The angle of illumination is adjustable, providing comfortable and precise lighting of the work area. Batteries must be fitted to use the light.
