These binoculars offer the classic combination of 8x magnification with 40 mm objective lenses. They are considered the gold standard amongst binoculars, thanks to the features that make them versatile. On the one hand, the forward zoom is perfect. On the other hand, they offer a wide field of view. The Discovery Gator 8x40 binoculars are an excellent choice for hunting, hiking, birdwatching and wildlife observation, land surveillance and outdoor activities.
The optical design is based on Porro prisms. The lenses are made of glass with a fully coated anti-reflective treatment. These binoculars deliver a bright, vivid and high-contrast image, with good definition of the finest details. The central focus control and dioptre adjustment, located on the right-hand eyepiece, help to adjust the sharpness. The interpupillary distance can also be adjusted. The simple rubber eyecups ensure maximum comfort during prolonged use.
The non-slip rubber coating protects the optics and mechanical parts from moisture, dust and dirt. It also ensures a firm grip, especially when holding the instrument with one hand. Suitable for mounting on a tripod.
