The Discovery Range 70 terrestrial spotting scope is an optical instrument with 25–75x magnification. This allows you to switch quickly between observing the wider landscape and spotting very distant objects. The capabilities of this spotting scope allow you to observe wildlife and birds from a safe distance, as well as distant landscapes, groups of moving objects and moving targets.
The spotting scope’s lenses are made from BK-7 glass. The optics are protected by a multi-layer anti-reflective coating, which makes the image brighter and sharper. Dioptre adjustment on the eyepiece is also available. In addition, the long eye relief allows for observation whilst wearing spectacles.
Due to this instrument’s high magnification, the use of a tripod is recommended during observations. A tripod is included and provides greater image stability. The tripod can be adjusted using a convenient control knob. The kit includes a small tripod and a plastic case for protecting and transporting the telescope and its accessories.
In addition, a smartphone adapter can be fitted to the Discovery Range 70.
