The Levenhuk Ra FT72 ED observation telescope is an apochromatic refractor designed for astrophotography. This telescope can be used both as a terrestrial telescope and as a lens for a camera. It can be used to observe the sky, but this telescope’s primary use is in the field of photography. Thanks to its extra-low dispersion optics and light-gathering eyepiece, this telescope produces high-contrast images with minimal chromatic aberration. The kit also includes an aluminium case, which makes it easier to protect and transport the telescope.
The main feature of the Levenhuk Ra FT72 ED is its 2-inch helical focuser. It is robust and allows for very precise focusing with smooth movement and no backlash. This ensures images that are clearer and sharper than those obtainable with a rack-and-pinion focuser or even a more advanced Crayford focuser. Furthermore, it is compatible with heavy accessories.
The optical tube has a standard 1/4” thread, making it compatible with most modern mounts and tripods. A special adapter is required to attach an SLR camera; this is not included in the kit.
