Evolving Vision 2025: the official report on the third edition focusing on children’s vision

The third edition of A Vision in Evolution took place on 19 November 2025 in Genoa, at the Palazzo della Torre. The event, organised in collaboration with Hoya Italia, brought together ophthalmologists, opticians and optometrists, and eye care professionals for an evening dedicated to the latest technologies and strategies for presbyopia, myopia and low vision, with a particular focus on children’s vision.

The meeting reaffirms Isolani’s role as a technical partner to the medical profession and as a national point of reference in promoting a professional, safe and structured approach to eye care at every stage of life.

1. Opening of the proceedings and official welcome addresses

The evening began at 6.30 pm with the registration of participants and a welcome drink. At 7.15 pm, the official introduction was given by Alice from the Isolani team, who presented the programme, explained how ECM points are managed and introduced the speakers.

The opening session also featured an official welcome from Massimo Nicolò e Fabio Giacomelli, who shared their insights on the value of collaboration between eye care professionals.

2. Speakers and scientific collaboration

The 2025 edition featured presentations by leading speakers from some of the region’s foremost clinical and academic institutions.

Once again this year, the Isolani Optical Institute has reaffirmed its role as a technical partner to ophthalmologists, helping to promote a professional, collaborative approach focused on the quality of vision.

3. Myopia control: scientific evidence and clinical practice

At 7.30 pm, the session on myopia management took place, featuring a presentation entitled “Myopia control: from scientific evidence to clinical practice”. The focus was on results, prospects and best practice in the use of lenses designed to manage the progression of myopia.

The session, led by Serafino, Vagge e Hoya, also included the presentation of a best practice by an ophthalmologist selected from the audience.

4. Presbyopia today: integrated solutions and updates

At 8.00 pm, a session on presbyopia took place, featuring an in-depth look at optical solutions and integrated strategies to meet the needs of today’s patients.

• personalised strategies for patients with presbyopia
• accommodative support lenses for those with early-onset presbyopia
• updates on premium intraocular lenses
• innovations in presbyopia surgery

5. Low vision and fragile eyesight: new technologies

At 8.20 pm, Gianluca La Rosa (Centro Ottico Isolani) gave a presentation on technologies for low vision and the management of impaired vision, with a focus on modern aids that support patients in their daily activities.

6. The distinctive features of the Isolani Opticians

At 8.25 pm, Sessarego (Isolani Opticians) outlined the key features that characterise the professional approach of Isolani Opticians: methodology, behaviour-based focus, the Simulation Room, personalised design and long-term continuity.
